What the test involves
A stool sample collected at home. The laboratory visually examines the sample to detect and identify any worms or worm segments passed.
This test measures:
- Whole worms or worm segments passed in the stool
- Cestodes (tapeworms)
- Nematodes (roundworms)
- Trematodes (flukes)

This test involves a visual inspection of the stool sample to identify the presence of whole worms or segments, including cestodes (tapeworms), nematodes (roundworms), and trematodes (flukes).
A single stool sample is required for this test.
This test is suitable for individuals aged 3 years and above.

Tests typically take 2 to 3 weeks from the date you send them back. We will email you the results when we receive them.
Two weeks before your test:
Discontinue using antibiotics, antiparasitics, antifungals, probiotic supplements, proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), and Bismuth products.
Two days before your test:
Avoid aspirin and other NSAIDs, digestive enzymes, laxatives (especially mineral oil, castor oil, and glycerin-based enemas or suppositories), activated charcoal, betaine HCl, antacids, and bentonite clay.
Sample collection:
You will need to collect stool samples over three separate days. While consecutive days are ideal, the final sample must be collected within 7 days of the first.
